Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered! As we age, our skin requires more hydration and care, and finding the perfect foundation can be a challenge.

That’s why we’ve rounded up some of the best foundations for mature skin, so you can get a nice, vibrant look.

From lightweight formulas to those with added skincare benefits, there’s something for everyone. So say goodbye to cakey, flaky foundation and hello to a fresh, dewy complexion. Trust me, your skin (and your confidence) will thank you!

I have found some amazing foundations – but it took awhile!

I have tested so many foundations. When I say foundation, I typically include classic liquid foundation makeup, tinted moisturizers, skin tints, sticks, creams, balms, and tinted sunscreens that can be worn alone.

The type I reach for most often is a liquid foundation. I find it easiest to apply. You can find the largest shade ranges and many types of formulas in liquid foundations.

I don’t use powder foundations very often. I haven’t included them here, although I keep a couple in my collection. I wear them when traveling to hot, humid, muggy locations when I can’t bare to even think about applying liquid foundations.

I have dry skin, dry patches, wrinkles, texture, broken veins, and redness on my almost 60-year-old face.

far different and more dry at age 58 than it was in my early fifties. Just wanted you to know.

As we age, our skin becomes drier and loses elasticity. Choosing the right foundation is crucial for older women with dry skin to achieve a more youthful and radiant look. Look for foundations that contain hydrating ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, glycerin, and ceramides, and opt for lightweight formulas that won’t settle into fine lines and wrinkles.

Finding a Foundation for Dry Skin over 60 is a CHALLENGE

Hey ladies, let’s talk about finding the perfect foundation for my dry skin. It can be a real challenge, am I right?

But fear not, because we’re not giving up that easily! We’ve got to remember that our skin has changed over the years, and so must our foundation. Let’s embrace this challenge and find a foundation that will make us feel confident, radiant, and fabulous!

It used to be that foundation formulated for dry skin tend to get greasy very quickly. It was just too much. But recent advances in the formulation of foundations for dry skin have made a huge difference.

The most popular ingreident is either serums or hyalaronic acid. Or both. Although I enjoy the comfortable feeling of serum foundation on my over 60 skin, I have trouble with serum foundation settling into wrinkles.

Serum Foundations are reluctant to sink into my skin because I only wear foundation over my AM skincare, and usually a primer.

This leaves too much foundation to move around on my face and settle into my wrinkles. Although I can wipe it out with a damp beauty blender, I don’t like doing this numerous times throughout the day.

I have better luch with foundation that are label hydrating. My newest favorite has both squalene and hyalaronic acid.

If you want to know my most up to date best foundation for dry skin over 60, check out my Holy Grail Makeup page where I list my absolute favorite 4 foundations. This tends to get updated a couple of times per year as I find new ones that I can’t live without.

Without further ado – as they say on YouTube – here is the list.

Revlon Illuminance Skin Caring Foundation

I am insane for this newly released (Jan 2023) foundation from Revlon. They hit it out of the ballpark. Don’t be afraid of the radiant finish. It’s a very subtle radiance that I can actually wear without emphasizing my large pores, textured skin, and wrinkles.

My older, often parched, skin loves this hydrating formula with hyaluronic acid. For me, it is my top drugstore foundation.

This foundation is medium coverage, almost light coverage for me. I think it has a natural, my skin but better look. The squalene works really well at keeping my dry skin hydrated throughout the day. Revlon Illuminance Skin Caring Foundation is a game-changer for anyone looking for a foundation that not only enhances their complexion but also nourishes and protects their skin.

Estee Lauder Futurist Hydra Rescue Moisturing Makeup

This is a foundation that has been a workhorse for me. I have worn it for several years and I keep coming back to it. Estee Lauder continues to offer some of the very best department store liquid foundations for dry skin. They seem to just understand the needs of mature skin better than other brands.

I like this Futurist Hydra Rescue Foundation formula because I get solid medium to almost full coverage. Anymore more coverage and I tend to feel fake and unnatural. Not drying, and lasts all day long. My best color is 2N1 Desert Beige. Contains chia seed extract which I believe is what keeps it hydrating for so long.

Helpful Hints

  1. For extra hydration, I like to mix a drop of my favorite facial oil into the foundation before applying it to my skin.
  2. To make the foundation last even longer, I recommend setting it with a light dusting of translucent powder, focusing on the areas where you tend to get oily throughout the day.

Estee Lauder describes this as a radiant finish. For me, at least compared to the more modern formulas released in 2022 and 2023, I would describe it as natural finish with a bit of satin. I plan to keep repurchasing this one until they don’t make it anymore – it is definately a winner in the catagory for great foundations for women over sixty with dry skin over.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Tint for Dry Skin

Here’s one you might not expect for best foundation for dry skin over 60. I never hear about this fantastic hidden drugstore gem. Although I like to wear the neutrogena serun foundation, it settles too much in my wrinkles. This is so annoying that I just don’t reach for it anymore.

I still love the Hydro Boost Hydrating Tint the best. I’ve tried a lot of foundations over the years, and the one that works best for my dry, mature skin is the hydro boost. It feels hydrating and comfortable on my skin, and it gives me a healthy, youthful glow.

I wear the color 30 buff. I hate the weird doe foot applicater, but as long as I use a duo fiber stippling foundation brush then this foundation is amazing. It does not settle – AT ALL – in my wrinkles. I have yet to find another foundation that has zero settling into wrinkles.

Great price and rock solid performer for over 60 wrinkled skin.

Tom Ford Traceless Soft Matte Foundation

Ok, so I am not super into luxury foundations. I have a few, I have tried a few. But this Tom Ford Traceless Soft Matte Foundation continous to be my love. The finish is called soft matte. Described as a modern matte makeup that is flexible and comfortable to wear. So true!

It is one of my best foundations list for my over 60 skin for a very good reason. I just love the look I get when I wear this.

This liquid foundation makeup diffuses and blurs in an extremly subtle way instead of an icky BB cream way. I wear the color 2.0 buff. It is pricey but worth it.

Keep your receipt!! Not everything works the same on everyone. So if you don’t love it like I do, please take it back. I don’t want you to fork over this kind of money and not love wearing every drop of it.
